Planning
Full brand identity, editorial web design, and a custom-coded website for a Charlotte wedding and event planning company — built to attract dream clients and rank locally.
An exceptional planner with no platform
OleDia Events is a Charlotte-based wedding and event planning company led by Diana — a planner with 3+ years of experience and 60+ events planned across NC and SC. Despite exceptional client results, the business had no website, no consistent visual brand, and no way to attract clients beyond direct referrals.
The brief was ambitious: brand identity, full website design and build, portfolio gallery, service packages, inquiry form, and local SEO — all in two weeks.
Events with no portfolio site
Diana had photographed proof of beautiful work but nowhere to show it — meaning potential clients couldn't see what they were hiring.
Full brand + site delivered
Identity system, design, copy, gallery, SEO, inquiry form, and deployment — all within a single focused engagement.
Editorial, warm, unforgettable
The brand direction was editorial luxury — not the over-saturated florals of typical wedding brands, but something closer to a high-end lifestyle magazine. Cormorant Garamond for headings, DM Sans for body, a warm cream/taupe/gold palette, and deep slate as the dark accent.
Typography System
Cormorant Garamond paired with DM Sans — serif elegance for headings, clean sans for body and UI. Red italic emphasis on key headings adds personality without breaking refinement.
✓ Distinctive and readableColour Palette
Warm cream, taupe, and gold CSS custom properties with a deep slate dark mode. Every color intentional — no generic wedding pinks or pastels.
✓ Custom property systemInteractive Details
Scroll reveals, a Ken Burns hero, orbit‑bloom gallery motion, and a soft pulsing nav indicator showing the company is open for a new clients.
✓ Every detail consideredBuilt to convert
The site architecture was designed around a clear user journey: land on the hero, understand what OleDia does, see the work, understand the packages, trust the planner, and inquire. Every section has one job.
Sections include: animated hero slideshow, service packages, a filterable photo gallery with lightbox, testimonials carousel, about section, FAQ with schema markup, and a multi-field inquiry form. Fully responsive and mobile friendly.

Live, ranked, inquiries open
What I learned
- Editorial restraint is harder than adding decoration. Every visual element has to justify its role, especially in a wedding brand where over‑designing is the default trap.
- Schema markup and intent‑driven FAQ content are high‑leverage infrastructure. For a local service business, structured data is one of the most efficient ways to improve discoverability and match users at the exact moment of need.
- A well‑defined color and type system accelerates the entire build. When the design language is codified, decisions collapse from minutes to seconds, and implementation becomes predictable, scalable, and error‑resistant.
- Handling both the brand design and the web build in one workflow creates alignment you can’t get when the work is split. One system, one logic, no translation gaps.
- A blog section with location-specific wedding planning content — high-value long-tail SEO with low competition in the Charlotte market.
- Video background option for the hero — movement is more compelling than stills for a services brand when bandwidth allows.
- CRM integration for the inquiry form — auto-reply, lead tagging, and follow-up sequence built in from submission.
